Our Story

Las Amigas Incorporated is a national, public service, and charitable women’s

organization founded by two teachers, Mrs. Dora R. Mason and Mrs. Mary Q.

Moore. It was organized on February 5, 1957 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Las Amigas Incorporated’s Greensboro Chapter was organized in February, 1967 by Ms. Lola Anne McAdoo in Greensboro, North Carolina at the home of her parents, Hilton and Emma McAdoo. The Charter members of the Las Amigas Greensboro Chapter were: Lola Anne McAdoo (Organizer), Alice Garrett Brown, S. Cecelia F. Taylor, Dorothy Swann (First President), Betty Artis, Johnsie Dalton, Faye Caple, and Willie Mae Lucas.

 

Lola Anne McAdoo is the only Charter member that remains active.
